Is my laptop a gaming laptop?
Gaming laptops
Gaming laptops have a separate graphics card, an NVIDIA GeForce (GTX or RTX) or AMD Radeon RX, and are usually sold under a gaming name: Acer Predator or Nitro, Asus ROG or TUF, Dell Alienware, HP Omen, Lenovo Legion, MSI, Razer, Gigabyte, Medion or PC Specialist. The card adds to the price, so choose Gaming laptop.
Regular laptops
Everyday, student and business laptops: Dell Latitude or Inspiron, HP EliteBook or ProBook, Lenovo ThinkPad or IdeaPad, Microsoft Surface and the like. Choose Regular laptop.
Check for a graphics card
Press Ctrl, Shift and Esc together, open Performance and look at the GPU entries. If one says NVIDIA GeForce or AMD Radeon RX, it’s a gaming laptop. If you only see Intel or AMD built-in graphics, it’s a regular one.

Choose your brand, processor, screen size and condition. Broken laptops get a price too, and once you confirm, it’s held for 14 days.

We collect it
Pick a day and a DPD driver collects it from your home or work. The driver brings a padded box and takes the laptop and charger only. Quotes of £10 to £20 go via a DPD shop, and under £10 you post it to us yourself.

Paid the same day
We check it matches, wipe your data and pay you by bank transfer or PayPal the same day, within 24 hours of it arriving. If anything’s different we tell you first; say no and we send it back free.

How much is my laptop worth?
The processor sets most of it, then the condition and the screen size. Our guide to what your laptop is worth lists the price for every processor we buy, and the form at the top of this page gives you the exact figure for yours.
What happens once I accept the quote?
You pick a day and a DPD driver collects the laptop and charger in a padded box they bring. When it reaches us we check it against your answers and wipe it, then pay you by bank transfer or PayPal. If something doesn’t match we tell you the new price before anything else happens, and if you’d rather not accept it, it comes back to you free.
Will you take a laptop that doesn’t work?
Yes. Cracked screens, dead batteries, liquid damage and laptops that won’t switch on all have a Faulty price. Selling a broken laptop goes through what we look at.
Do you buy gaming laptops?
We do, and the graphics card is priced on top of the processor. Choose from the gaming brands above, or read about selling a gaming laptop first.
Do you buy MacBooks?
No. We only buy Windows laptops at the moment, so we can’t make an offer on a MacBook, an iPad or a phone.
What if my laptop is too old to be worth anything?
Laptops with a Celeron, a Pentium or an Intel Core from the first five generations get very little from us, and some get nothing. They’re still better wiped and recycled than left in a drawer, and laptop recycling explains how.
Is there somewhere near me I can take it?
You don’t need to find one. Wherever you are in mainland UK, a quote over £20 is collected from your door by DPD on the day you choose, and smaller quotes go to your nearest DPD pickup shop.
